Detailed application summary of the bushing of the woodworking engraving machine profile bushing assembly
Through woodworking, the imitation bushing assembly will be a very simple component that extends the capabilities of the engraver. Yes: Their role is to expect a good imitation of the shape design template installed in the processed wood, select the appropriate size according to the template copy bushing, and then insert the copy bushing plate engraving machine, the engraving machine tool passes the copy pad, the pad goes The edge of the template knife so you can mill out the desired concave surface on the wood.
Copying bushings may not be the best choice, but they do a lot of work well. When working with decorative lines, lettering, etc., the copy bushing is easier to operate than a milling cutter with a rolling bearing. The replication bushing is rarely seen on the engraving machine table. The main reason is that the size of the template is smaller than the workpiece.
Another advantage of the replication bushing is that almost all of the mill can pass through the bushing. The woodworking machine operator concentrated his creativity on the lining and played it to the fullest.
The copy bushing and dovetail slot templates give some suggestions. Most dovetail templates require a profile bushing of the specified diameter to accommodate template milling. These diameters do not include the base of the profile liner, but only the inner and outer diameters of the tube from which it protrudes. To use the dovetail template, find the profile liner with the proper inside and outside diameter based on the data provided by the template manufacturer. If the wrong copy bushing is used, the dovetail slot will not be used even if the size is small.
Suitable bushing base
Made of aluminum alloy, it is durable and thread-free.
The contoured bushing must be tightly fitted to the bottom of the engraver so that it is safe. When installing the contoured bushing, care should be taken. Do not install the skewing on the side of the bushing. Rotate it down in the direction of the thread. Be sure to install it in the center position.
The material of the bushing base can be brass or steel. The base of the brass can usually be hand-tightened and kept locked, and the steel parts appear to be more easily loosened by vibration. If it is a locking ring of steel, it is generally tightened with a tool such as a pliers or a wrench to overcome the above problem.
Different diameter milling cutters correspond to different contoured bushings, making it easier to adjust the clearance.
Calibration bushings and milling cutters
The gap between the engraving machine milling cutter and the contoured bushing is very small, and the alignment of the gaps on both sides is critical. In some cases, especially when using a dovetail template, the bushing is at the center of the engraving machine bottom plate. Once the contoured bushing is reinstalled, it is necessary to calibrate the gap between the bushing and the milling cutter. This is very important.
For easy insertion and removal of the milling cutter, the diameter of the milling cutter head is smaller than the inner diameter (ID) of the bushing conduit. It is more accurate to check the gap between the milling cutter and the circumference of the bushing tube with a digital display truck than with the naked eye.
If the center of the milling cutter is found to be far from the gap around the bushing conduit, loosen the bottom plate screw of the engraving machine and turn the bottom plate clockwise until the center line of the screw hole coincides with the center of the screw hole of the engraver. Each time the correction is disassembled. Usually, after the contoured bushing is installed, the milling cutter does not need to be adjusted at the center. Once the corrected position is found, mark it on a locking screw on the bottom plate of the engraving machine, and then mark the corresponding engraving machine base accordingly. When re-installing, just align this line. It is not necessary to calibrate the gap between the milling cutter and the bushing, naturally in the center position.
When designing a contoured template, the most important concern is the thickness of the stencil material, which is thick enough to cushion the liner to prevent the end face of the contoured bushing from rubbing against the surface of the wood. It is important to know the amount of deviation of the outer diameter of the milling cutter into the inner diameter of the contoured bushing.
